The Surkhigallan Forest Rest House falls under Dalhousie Forest Division in Chamba Civil District of Himachal Pradesh. This was built during the British Era in 1927.It is situated 1km away from Banikhet on Banikhet-Dalhousie PWD road. The Dalhousie town hill station full of colonial charm that holds lingering echoes of the period, spread over five hills, is situated about 5kms away from the Forest Rest House Surkhigallan. It is also a part of Dalhousie Hill Station, having altitude 1699mtrs.The rest house has three sets with capacity of one double bed in each set.
The spot is situated at a picturesque location, offering a breath taking view of natural beauty, invigorating air and quite surrounding. It is one of the most beautiful spot for staying in the lap of nature and to enjoy the surrounding flora which includes the stately grooves of deodar, ban and fauna, from the close quarters. This area has cool summers and chilling winters with excellent tracks to trek in. The area experiences heavy snowfall during the winters. The site supports good facilities to facilitate nature loving tourists in mesmerizing landscape. This area is far from buzzing cities in the country which takes you to pollution free environment in the lap of nature.
