Sholtu FRH was built in 1925 and is located on the left bank of the river Satluj. An adjunct to this rest house is a nursery where plants of apricot, chilgoza (pine nut), walnut and some medicinal and aromatic plants are grown. On one side of the rest house is a perennial spring. Close by, there is an old walk-trail that passes through Kaksthal through a thick Forest of fir and maple to reach Nichar - which lay on the old Hindustan-Tibet Road. Needless to add, this rest house is much in demand by both officers and visitors.
