This FRH was built during the British Era in 1927. It is situated 1km away from Banikhet on Banikhet-Dalhousie PWD road. The Dalhousie town hill station full of colonial charm that holds lingering echoes of the period, spread over five hills, is situated about 5kms away from the Forest Rest House Surkhigallan. It is also a part of Dalhousie Hill Station, having altitude 1699mtrs.
