Overview
Bharmour is beautiful town surrounded by high Pir Panjal range of mountains located at a distance of 61 km from Chamba and 102 km from Dalhousie, which is another popular tourism destination of utmost importance in Himachal Pradesh. Bharmour is often referred as the land of Shiva because of belief that lord Shiva resides at mountain Kailash which is located in this area. Bharmour was also Known as Brahmpur in the 6th century and was the seat of power of Chamba state for nearly 400 years till AD 920, when a new capital was founded at Chamba by Raja Sahil Varman. Bharmour is popular for its natural beauty, for Chaurasi temples and Manimahesh. Chaurasi Temples stand on a level area in center of Bharmour and are named after the 84 Siddhas who are believed to have meditated in here over thousand years ago.

Clothing Essentials
Summer temperature in Bharmour can rise to around 30 - 32°C degree Celsius and in winter they do hover near -10°C degree Celsius. Light cotton clothes are best suited for summers, light woollens for spring and autumn but for winters, heavy woollen clothing is necessary. Those travelling into higher lands would require heavy woollens as morning-evening temperature can get very cold.

Weather
The weather at Bharmour is generally pleasant and cool all around the year. In summers that is May and June , the temperature sometimes may reach 30- 32°C. December and January are the coldest months and the temperature dips to -10°C at times. October and November are dry months but it is pretty cold also. December to February is very cold and snow bound and chilly months. Winter dresses are indispensable during this season.
